Lucky comes from a line of
unregistered purebred English shepherds that were bred and sold by Fairmont
Kennels. Fairmont was owned by Mildred Schoemann of Cedar Falls, Iowa over
the last 50 years or so. Over the past 5 years, I have gotten around a
dozen calls from people looking for dogs from Mrs. Schoemann. She had quit
breeding and her repeat customers from the last half of a century were looking
for her dogs. The story of this line is why it is important to register
the dogs. Because the dogs were unregistered, we can't find them now.
Lucky fell into our lap after years of hearing about these wonderful dogs.
When I met her, I knew that this was something worth maintaining! So,
Lucky lives with us and over the generations her progeny will be stepped into
the English shepherd registered genepool.
