Johnny B. Goode
Johnny, aka "Tip", is one of my best Susie Q pups. He is loyal, shadowy,
biddable, smart, and trustworthy.
Johnny was my favorite pup from his litter. He was calm and
thoughtful and always trying to help. He lived and worked on a ranch
in New Mexico until late 2007 when his owner gave up the ranch and
went to work in the public sector. "Tip" proved himself as a faithful
companion and herding dog, accompanying his master up into the
lower Rockies to gather cattle and later to work goats on the home
ranch. He "turned on" to herding after 1-year of age
when he worked in tandem with his mate Sunshine Sweet Susie
from Sallee lines. Since he's lived with me, I've found him to
be all that I heard about with little to no prey drive or reactivity.
He is very quiet and devoted, never more than a couple of steps
behind me when we are outdoors together.
He's very calm when he accompanies me to the chicken house to
gather the eggs, and the chickens are not afraid of him.
