Hi Elaine,
Jesse is amazing! and I have been wanting to talk to you about him...
The plane ride was hard on him but he has adapted well. We took him to
the vet the first Fri (I found a new vet practice I really like) and he
was quite calm there-falling asleep in Bobby's (my husband) lap. The
vet thought he was great and was very interested in the breed-not having
seen them in the practice. She declared him healthy and in great shape
and he got his shots (checked for worms but he didn't have any). He'll
go back in a couple of weeks for next round.
In the meantime Gracie (our other ES) has gotten sick and is on
antibiotics (but Jesse hasn't caught anything and I think it's stress related
with Gracie). They play together well and he really held his own
scolding her when she knocked him over -he was right back under her head
fussing and biting her ear! However, that was the first few days -then
Gracie got sick so we kept them apart and now when they play it looks all
fun and games with no fussing.

Jesse is really bonding with us-he is shy of others outside
the family
so we are taking him different places and bringing people over for him.
He is extremely responsive, loves to be right there with us whatever
we're doing (including at our feet under the table while we homeschool)
and cuddles wonderfully. It is soooooo interesting to see the
differences between Gracie and Jesse and the similarities.
We live right across the street from a township park (lots of rabbits,
groundhogs, deer) and close to a couple of farms (one is organic
meet-lamb, pork, beef-looks like what Erin has going on her website and a
couple of cooperative share organic vegetable, herb and flowers and a
nature/ environmental education park so we have some visiting to do.
We were going to go up to the herding farm on the 17th but I'm thinking
we should wait until Jesse is full up on his shots.
Anyway, I cannot thank you enough for Jesse -he is truly amazing -what
a wonder you must experience breeding these terrific dogs!
I'll write again soon!
Judy

Jesse was always looking at me from the start...
